Committee Main Goal: The Alcohol Subcommittee works to prevent youth alcohol use through policy change.
The Alcohol Subcommittee, which is under the policy and legislation committee, meets with local officials, legislators, and other groups with similar interests in order to adjust policy and change legislation.
Typically, a meeting includes researching different policies, contacting officials, and preparing to meet legislators. Due to the nature of this subcommittee, there are many public speaking opportunities. If public speaking isn’t appealing, this committee may not be the best fit. We hope that this subcommittee can contribute to a safer community for teens with respect to alcohol use.
