Committee Main Goal: Cooperate with other committees to create surveys to understand how Catalyst has benefited the community and what we need to focus on.
This year, the Research/Evaluation Committee will be working with several committees to increase their reach and impact. One of the main things we are doing is seeking out and establishing contact with other high schools to invite them to Community Youth Activism’s Youth Summit. Creating a joint effort between high schools to further our message will not only increase our reach of influence but our degree of impact as well. Another thing we are doing this year is working with Staff & Coach Outreach to develop a Staff Survey that will be run in parallel with the Illinois Youth Survery. It’s important that we ensure that all staff are correctly informed about the dangers of substance abuse rather than relying on inaccurate perceptions. Lastly, we will also be working closely with the Marjiuana Legislation Committee to maintain roll call with all legislators to maintain maximum efficiency.
In the past we have designed a number of surveys and researched various topics to not only understand how Catalyst is affecting the community but also to spread correct information to the people in our community. More recently, we designed a complex survey to evaluate freshmen opinions regarding Catalyst’s commercials presented in school. We believe the data collected was most helpful in tailoring a commercial that beat resonates with our student body.
